2006 saw the laying of the foundation for the development of ACT. Two years later, in 2008, the development plans for ACT were further crystallised in the ACT Master Plan. The ACT Master Plan sets out a progressive vision of the future. In addition to sustainability, accessibility and multi-modality play a major role in the development of ACT's business parks. Amsterdam CAREX provides for a greener transport option, which will boost the Schiphol region's accessibility. The development of this transport option is focused on two pillars: first, the construction of the rail terminal and, second, European cooperation with the aim of establishing a high-quality international network of terminals that can receive and dispatch freight.
